Experiencing Technical Difficulties?

Use Firefox, Netscape 4.79, or Internet Explorer,
and have "session cookies" enabled in your browser. Opera, AOL's browser, and
WebTV are not supported.

Clear your cache or you
may be disconnected.

Disable or reconfigure your firewall
(Norton internet security, etc.) or you may not be able to chat. Exit the
service and
reconfigure the firewall
to work with our service. Remember to re-enable the firewall afterwards.

Use the forward, back, and refresh buttons in the chat software,
not the ones in your browser
[Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.].

Don't try to bookmark or print anything
during the chat or you may experience a disconnect. Please wait for the
emailed transcript.
- If you must open a second browser for any
reason while connected, please use the "start" menu or taskbar shortcut, not
control "n" or File "new". If you do so, you will crash.

MAC users: we will be
able to send you web pages, but you will not be able to take us to other
websites during the session.
- If you use
Windows
XP and have Service Pack 2 installed,
you must configure it to work with our software in order to
chat with the librarian.
